Where to find your credit score?
There are three credit reporting agencies, Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax. You can get a free report once a year from each agency at AnnualCreditReport.com . You are also legally entitled to a report if you've been denied credit in the last 60 days.
Before attempting to obtain financing for a vehicle, request a report from each agency and compare them for inconsistencies.
What does a credit score mean?
A credit score is supposed to tell a potential creditor how likely or unlikely you are to default on a loan. The score can range from 300 to 850. It's determined by a number of factors, such as length of credit history, payment history, amounts owed, account queries, and how many types of credit are in use.
How do I improve my credit score?
